How long does it take to have a stair lift installed once purchased?

If you are in need of immediate installation, please state this when speaking to one of our experts. Speak to an expert today.
Can I install a stair lift in my apartment if I rent and live in a multi-unit building?
If you are a landlord, you can absolutely install a stair lift or in-home elevator on your property. Installations will have to meet the city of Chicago building requirements and we have experts that can help you here.
If you are a tenant, this decision is up to your landlord. Please reach out to them if you are in need of accessibility improvements. We’d be happy to speak with both of you regarding your options.
I have specific HOA requirements, will DME Elevators & Lifts work with the HOA’s building codes?
Absolutely! Depending on the complexity of the building codes, the timeline for installation may need to be adjusted. We will work with your HOA to ensure compliance and meet any building requirements from the City of Chicago.
Will a stair lift or in-home elevator significantly increase electrical costs in Chicago?
Stair lifts typically do not have a major impact on your electrical or utility bills. If you are a heavy user of your stair lift, you might see a small increase, but stair lifts only output on average .024kWh of electricity or 24 watts per hour. This would typically run you an extra $15 per year.
In-home elevators are also fairly energy efficient, only using 1 kilowatt-hour (kWH) of electricity per day, which is roughly the same amount of electricity a standard light bulb uses over the course of two weeks.
I have limited parking availability in my building, what will DME Elevators & Lifts need for on-site parking?
This is a common issue in the City of Chicago. Typically, we request that you purchase temporary parking passes that we can show on our truck’s dashboard. We can also work with the city on obtaining special permits if need be.
Are your stair lifts and in-home elevators American made?
Many of our products are made in the U.S.A. For example, we are a certified dealer of Bruno stair lifts and wheelchair lifts, which are manufactured in Oconomowoc, WI. All of our partners are highly regarded in the industry and come with warranty options.
